Thrifty Thursday is Retiring

There are several reasons I have decided to stop hosting Thrifty Thursday.  I have been considering it for awhile now.  I started it when my blog was really young, and have met some wonderful, creative women over the last 80 weeks.  Let’s be honest, there really are a ton of these things.  Are we truly intermingling and forming relationships, or just one time visits and impersonal comments?  Is this one different than host of others?

I will continue to feature great projects, and fill the space with what speaks to me.  I appreciate all of you who participated.  Thank you for being here and sharing.  I am grateful to have your time.

Cabinet makeover

Barbara at Chase the Star shared a craigslist cabinet revamp that is quite the transformation.  The price tag? $36 total.  Score.

Granny Square Crochet Pillow

After I crocheted my first (and only) granny square blanket, I swore off ever doing so again.  All those squares made, then you have to attach them, one by one?!  When I am done crocheting a piece, I want to be done, however this crochet pillow by Happy in Red is darn cute.  I may not be done with granny squares after all.

Staree: A Newly Launched Monetization Opportunity From Izea

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of IZEA for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am excited to share with you a cool new photo/video sharing service called Staree, from the folks at Izea.  It provides a way for publishers to earn some extra cash with their photos and videos.  If you take a lot of photos for your blog, this is a great monetization tool for that content.

Here is how it works:

Go to Staree.com to apply to be part of the program. It is a cinch.  I applied by connecting my Facebook account and filling in a few pieces of information.  Connecting via twitter is also an option.

Once you are accepted, you will use Staree as your photo and video app to share your photo to Twitter and/or Facebook and earn money!   Earnings are based on the amount of traffic generated by you content and you can track them at Staree.com.

Here is the user interface:

Tie Dye Craft Mishap

Tie Die project

Yeah, so today’s tie dye from Tulip is super easy and mess free.  However, if you have a nosy beagle, make sure you keep the trash from your project out of his reach.  I had a super fun day of tie dye creating, which you will see in a future post.  I woke up this morning and put the pieces together.

Any guesses on how long it will be before he is no longer teal?

Printable Mother’s Day Card

Printable Mothers Day CardI was inspired by this month’s Paper Crafts Magazine to design a Mother’s Day card.  Here, I printed it at 5,75 in x 4 in and mounted it with foam stickies onto a brown card blank measuring 6.25 in x 4.5 in.  Easy!

You could also just print and fold into a card on white card stock.

Here are the color schemes:
