The abundance of curbside discarded chairs in my area has me looking for ways to repurpose old chairs and their parts. Today’s post brings my favorite finds for DIY upcycling inpsiration. I truly didn’t anticipate finding a wreath during my searching on this one, but it happened. Not only that, but it’s pretty cool, I must say. You will see chair back, legs, spindles, even entire chairs given new purpose in some seriously creative ways. Enjoy!

This is a joyous moment for me. The Fall Aluminum Can Leaf Wreath DIY I shared with you was featured in GreenCraft Magazine! When i got the email expressing interest in my project for this issue, I literally squealed from my bed, where I lay with the then current issue of GreenCraft on my nightstand. With just a month until Halloween, it is time to get down with some creepy decor. Today I am going to show you how to do just that with a little help from Make it Fun: Crafts. Using Design It:® Simple Style® Decorative Mesh and Burlap with FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam we will create a festive orange rosette wreath, perfect for your Halloween festivities!

FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Sheet
FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Cutter
Black wired ribbon or burlap
Hot glue gun
I cut my wreath form from a sheet of foam using the foam cutter (which you can find on the Make it Fun website linked above). You could also just use a precut wreath form.
Trace the donut shape onto the foam sheet. I used two foam circles, one small and one big, for my “donut”. You could use a plate or other round object.
Cut along the outlines with your Styro Cutter Plus®, like I showed you in my faux pallet flag post.
Wrap your wreath with the burlap garland. This is to have brown instead of stark white showing through in any gaps that may remain after rosettes are added, as well as to give hot glue something to adhere to.
Once entirely wrapped, cut burlap from roll and hot glue in place on back of wreath.
Cut a 1.5 inch strip of orange Deco Mesh about 10 inches long. Twist into spiral shape from center towards the outside to make the rosette.
Hot glue rosettes onto wreath form until it is covered.
Hot glue black wire ribbon or burlap to the back and secure on nail to hang.

Is it just me, or do you all love paper to bits too? I switch mediums and techniques all the time, but paper is a constant. I don’t scrapbook, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at my studio. Piles and piles of decorative paper adorn the shelves, and don’t get me started on the stacks of magazines, newspapers and vintage sheet music. You don’t have to spend any money to make gorgeous jewelry and home decor if you go the recycled paper route. Check out some of my favorite diy paper projects, and share with me some of yours!
UPDATED!! A great centerpiece is really all you need for your decor to look fabulous. Whether for your wedding, summer parties, or other special occasion, having gorgeous centerpieces doesn’t have to break the bank. Getting creative with recycled cans, bottles jars and crates can keep the budget low. Making your own flowers from paper saves cost and lends to a piece that lasts forever!
This stack planter centerpiece adorned the tables at SNAP! 2013. It makes me think of other objects to stack for an interesting, upcycled centerpiece. You will find a tutorial in the roundup below if you want to take a crack at making your own.

This week I decided to bring you a round-up of cupcake liner crafts to make. I got the idea to do a 50+ on this subject while creating the Cupcake liner rosette frame I shared with you Monday. I had so much fun making it, and love the finished product. It is in a box on the way to Somerset Life (fingers crossed that it makes the cut)! While coming up with the rosette frame idea, I scoured the web for cupcake liner crafts, and was pleasantly surprised at the number and variety of projects out there. Here are some of my favorites, then on to the 50+!
I have a weakness for adorable paper crafts, and these cupcake liner fortune cookies from Spoonful fit the bill. They would be favors for all kind of occasions!
Jill at Create.Craft.Love came up with this gorgeous cupcake liner wreath for Valentine’s Day. It is so full, frilly and festive. I want one on every door.
Creative Jewish Mom is a great place for gorgeous crafts that won’t break the bank. I adore this birthday decor number she made from cupcake liners and paper plates. Monogram initials would be cute too!
Martha Stewart uses cupcake liners as outdoor party cocktail covers! This is such a simple touch, with a big punch. Cupcake liners come in so many prints and colors, you are sure to find the perfect ones to coordinate with your party decor.
Over at Oh Happy Day, learn how to whip up these DIY flower lights from cupcake liners! It’s paper, flowers and lights, I mean how can that be anything but fun?!

I was browsing the swoon worthy pages of one of my favorite publications, Somerset Life, when I came across their call for cupcake liner crafts. Oh how awesome it would be to make it onto one of those pages! I decided to make roses from the liners, and adhere them to a plain wood frame for this rosette wreath. It took awhile to roll all those little flowers, but the project was easy, and well worth the time.
White cupcake liners (a few packs, depending on the size of your frame)
Craft glue (I used Glossy Accents)
Sizzix 3D flower Die
Sizzix Machine
If you don’t have a die cut machine, you can cut the spirals by hand with a spiral rose template, like I showed you here
Wreath form or unfinished frame/garage sale frame
Bamboo Skewer or toothpick
Stack cupcake liners over die cut shape, tape into place with masking tape and run through Sizzix
Roll spiral into rose using bamboo skewer. I showed you a video demonstrating this part in this Decorative Paper Rose Sphere post.
Glue roses to frame or wreath form with a small dab of glue on the back of the flower
Simple as that! I decided to leave the picture out of the frame, since it is a piece of art in and of itself. I think I want to do a matching lampshade.

My creative friend Lucy at Craftberry Bush looked at these dollar store bowls and saw a would be DIY succulent planter! She was inspired by terrariums, but wanted to do something different. How lovely!
