I inherited these oak side tables as a part of the package that came with my husband. I finally got at them with some spray paint and stenciling to help them fit right in to their surroundings. Here is what i did…
Supplies:
- Tables to revamp
- Sand paper
- Spray paint (I used Krylon Outdoor in Ivory and Tuscan Sun)
- Stencil
- Decoart Texture Magic Dimensional paint (I used Golden Pear)
- Hardware (I covered my knobs in polymer clay, here)
Instructions:
- Sand side tables lightly with medium grit sandpaper.
- Wipe away debris with damp cloth
- Spray paint with desired color
- Once spray paint is dry, remove drawer and tape stencil in place.
- Use spatula to spread thick layer of texture magic from the center of the stencil out.
- Remove stencil, being careful not to touch the wet texture paint. Let dry completely (drying time depends upon how thick you made the layer – I sped mine up using my heat tool).
- Spray Krylon clear coat or other finish for protection, shine and durability.
- Put on your hardware and you are finished!
I did two tables to coordinate. I brused over the raised stenciled area with distress inkpad in walnut to enhance the texture. Easy revamp…
