My name is Johnnie, and I am the crafty one behind the scenes at Saved By Love Creations. I heart running, peanut butter, my friends, my psycho Jack Russell, his obese Beagle sidekick, creating (especially from recycled materials) and roadside finds, to name a few.  If I lived to be 1000 years old, I don’t think I would get to all of the creative techniques that speak to me. I come from a scientific background, and feel I have lived two lives. The first one ended when I left the day job to give the artist a chance to emerge. A monster was unleashed. I never imagined I would be a creative entrepreneur, or that I would be so in love with paper, polymer clay and repurposing!

This is a place where I share what I do, and get to know other creative individuals. I hope you leave here inspired. Say hello to me if you are inclined. I love hearing from you. Some of my most enjoyable projects have been inspired by you and your encouragement. Thank you.

Hi Johnnie,
I cant tell you how interesting your work is.It has really inspired me as i had always wanted to try something with the local ladies in my home town in Pemba, an Island found Tanzania how to make stuff like wot u make from the materials already available so that they could atleast lift their earning.
God bless you Johnnie i wish you could pay us a visit and teach us all the things you are doing.

Dear Johnnie,

For several weeks I have been on over-load, grasping at straws, trying to feel useful….but always stopping at the end of a thought and beginning of an action. I have two million ideas, piles of used items to “make pretty”, and a whole lot of “if only I knew how to’s”

The two biggest now are painting some small pieces of furniture I’ve acquired second-hand, and the second is taking images I’ve fallen in love with and combining them with picture frames I’ve “originalized” – making epic wall art/decor. Thing is: I don’t know the first thing about painting once I’ve sanded the surface. Nothing about types of paint, brushes etc. and I don’t know anything about taking the pictures I love and turning them into the ideas in my head. (Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not helpless or ignorant, I just have a hard time with becoming overwhelmed, and end up doing nothing.) I realize you are completely busy beyond belief, but do you ever consider consulting, or coaching? I would pay you for your time.

Many thanks!

I just received your email about the 50 door projects. Very interesting. I will be doing one of the projects. I don’t know which one yet.

Hi Jonnie!
Love your work! I’ve been dabbling with different things to make with the magazine pages, and I’m looking for making a woven box with a lid, like the shape of a shoe box or square one, I wondered if you had done that!!! I think I can figure it out, I’m about to try the woven bowl for my first woven one. Love it if you’d let me know and if you have a tutorial for it!!!

Where did you get the stamps “Serenity” & “Keep it Simple”
I am in the AA program and would love to have these to make pendants.
Very nice!

You mentioned in one of your tutorials that Diamond Glaze yellows. Have you found a substitute glaze that does not yellow? I am interested in making these beads and would like to know which glaze works best.

Thank you,
