Paper Mache Mary Jane Shoes Altered

I mentioned this project in this post, a what I am loving to read update.  I got the inspiration for these adorable shoes from Cloth Paper Scissors March/April 2011 issue that I picked up at my local Barnes and Noble.  There is a decent tutorial on creating these mary janes from paper and just a few other supplies.
This is my first ever paper mache project, and I think it is so cute I might freak.  I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet.  Shadow box maybe?  Or dangling from the wreath posted here?  They are about 4 inches long.  I thought they would be bigger, but I couldn’t care less.  Precious.  Any ideas for display?
I stamped a cross on one soul and on the other I collaged “Glory to God”.  Spring and Easter are a time when God’s Awesomeness screams even louder than normal.

I can remember my mary janes when i was a young girl they may have looked like this as I wore them through mud holes, riding bikes and playing with the big kids

They are super dooper cute!!! Centerpiece for a decorative baby mobile maybe? With paper mache-d shapes or baby articles surrounding it, but only smaller. heehee! Love this for a nursery.

Anyway, off topic, love your blog layout! Did you do it yourself? I'm looking for a blog makeover-ist hehehe

I was browsing pintrest when I saw the shoes. I said “oh my those look familiar.” The article in Cloth Paper Scissors was from my sweet talented sister Gail Walker. The first pair of shoes she made for me. We attended the movie Where the Wild Things Are toghther. We loved the sound track and soon were listening to it often. I told her I wanted a pair of walking shoes inspired from one of the songs. A box soon came to my door with the sweetest pair of paper shoes with the lyrics to the song hand written on the bottom. I will always treasure them and the memories of our visit.
