Do you love washi tape crafts? Are you thinking, what the heck is that? Either way, I am sure you will want to check out washitapecrafts.com, a new crafty site featuring…uh… washi tape crafts. I love the stuff, and pretty much everything in the craft industry that Amy Anderson brings us, so of course it is right up my alley. The site was recently launched, and is already packed with fabulous home decor, craft, and holiday projects featuring the decorative paper tape.
For those of you who don’t know Amy!
After browsing the projects for a few minutes, I occurred to me that I could use washi tape to make these rose earrings that I now wear everywhere I go:
To see how I made them, check out my Duck Tape Rosette Earrings I showed you last week. Follow those steps using washi tape in place of the Duck Tape and seal before the adding jewery findings step.
I sealed using Mod Podge Antique for an aged look on my Tim Holts Tissue Tape pair. Any paper sealer will do. Just brush it on and let dry.
Here are the ones I haven’t rolled into the 3D rose shape yet. I got a little obsessed because they are so cute. They are so fun to wear, and would make lovely gifts!
What a great idea for earrings!!! BTW the link to washitapcrafts.com doesn’t work because I think you forgot the e after the t…just sayin …great site!
Hmmm… the link works fine. Just the anchor text mispelled, which won’t affect the hyperlink, but thanks for letting me know!
Real shame about the link that’s one potential project I could get into. oh well I hope you can manage to work out what’s going on there.
Lovely earrings can see potential for larger blooms for Broaches, or stick with small and make embelishments for Shoes or bracelets way to go.
Can anybody tell me the English version of Modpodge as we don’t have it here
as far as I’m aware I’ve only just started getting crafty after a long time and there is so much more to do now.
There is no link problem to work out! I would love to know what you are referring to. All of the links are fine and have been fine. Thanks.
Hi I was reffering to washitapecrafts.com the link isn’t working it kept saying Error 404 try again later which I did a few times I’ll try again tomorrow as its real late here now I don’t think I was the only one who had got a dead end with it.Its no major problem its where it says for more inspiration.
Lisa, I can’t figure out why it isn’t working for some! So strange. Can you copy and paste or type the following into your browser address bar: http://washitapecrafts.com
Or even google washitapecrafts.com and that will bring up the site. Sorry for the difficulty. Thanks for letting me know. xo
Hya alls well I used your link today fine and its bookmarked now because I know I will be visiting again lots of lovely things to do Thai you Lisa
Link works fine! try it again, I’m sure we will all be wearing washi tape earrings soon!! 🙂
Thanks!
I really like your site…. BUT ….. I CAN’T AFFORD A SIZZIX MACHINE!!! I need to know a better way of making a flower! I get one check a month and have a small amount that I strrrrretch!!! Could you help me on this? I make my own earrings and bracelets!
Please keep up the great work on this wonderful site!!! Oh, I’m really happy today, cause it’s MY BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy (belated) Birthday, Jill! You can absolutely make this project without a Sizzix machine. Before I had one, I would cut spiral roses from a template and make my pieces by hand. For example, you could follow the steps to make these washi tape earrings, but instead of running your foil covered with washi through the sizzix, cut them by hand using the template I showed you here:
. Thanks for the great question. xoxo
