My amazing grandmother, Doris, has scattered joy with her handmade ornaments for as long as I can remember. Every sparkly detail mimics her radiance. I love her complete absorption in the creative process, as she crafts away at her station, oblivious to anything not sequin, bead, or ribbon! She is an inspiration to everyone she meets, and anyone who has spent time with her most likely has a Doris original. They started as Christmas ornaments in the traditional green and red scheme, but have evolved into all occasion decor. She bought a kit years ago that included all she needed to make an ornament, then realized how much she could save if she bought the supplies herself. She was off and running and has yet to look back.
My grandmother made my sisters and I each one of these in our favorite colors. They are so beautiful. I am so happy to see this art has not been lost. God bless you and Merry CHRISTmas!
Those are SO gorgeous!!! Beautiful and radiant and sparkly, and filled with love. I don't have that kind of patience, but I sure wish I did when I see these … 🙂
