I have never been one for organizing. Not once. It wasn’t a big deal when I first started crafting, but over the last few years, my supplies have accumulated. It is hard to walk into this room and feel inspired and creative. I honestly don’t even know what all is in there, much less where to find it. Admittedly, I know of several supplies I have just gone out and bought again after futile searching.
That is why I have spent the last 2 days in craft room overhaul mode. I am still in the middle of it, I am exhaused, my spraypaint finger hurts, and I would much rather be creating. That said, I can tell I am going to be so glad I finally tackled this daunting task. Stay tuned for the reveal, and some organizing tips and tricks to keep you sane and help make the most or your creative time and space.
wow you have a lot of work ahead of you, I’m sure you will find things that you forgot or dont remember where you got things from, and it will get your mind going on things to make with what you find, good luck. My secret to keeping my craft room clean is I dont work in it, I use the dining room table, which I have to straighten up before supper so we can eat at the table, lol, the only bad thing about it is I have to keep going to the craft room to get what I need, but I consider it exercise, lol, good luck!!!

That is a good idea, Paula. I think it would take me forever to get a project finished that way, since I often walk into a room and have no idea what I was going to grab 🙂
I really look forward to your reveal. I am right there with you on not being an organizer. My craft room is also in sad shape. We usually take the supplies and then move to the kitchen table, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a craft room.
Pam, that is hilarious about the kitchen table thing. My husband always reminds me that I have a craft room when I have my spread elsewhere (which is often)!
oh it makes me feel great to see This!!!!… I am reorganizing too!…. I decided to do 20minutes a day…and craft/paint in between. i even arranged my paints by color…so i am getting there..Can NOT wait to see your reveal!
This is very exciting. Your craft room looks big. I want one too. lol
It will feel so good once it is all clean. One thing that helps is to always straighten up before you go to sleep. Dishes loaded, living clean, toys put away (kids), craft area straightened up.
xo,
Cheri
Thanks for showing the before! It takes guts to show messes, which is why my studio is almost off limits to my house guests! Lol. May I suggest more lighting in your room? I think you’ll find it a lot nicer to work in and easier to clean.
[…] at SBLC. Magnetic tin storage is one idea I have yet to incorporate into my soon to be revealed craft room revamp. This would be perfect for small embellishments, and it has the 2 most important storage traits I […]
