Faux Pewter Polymer Clay Pendants

 DIY Faux Pewter pendants using polymer clay by Crafts Unleashed, featured @savedbyloves

[pinit]

Shaunte at Crafts Unleashed created these cool faux pewter pendants using polymer clay.  This is a great project for novice to experienced clayers.  If you have never used polymer clay before, and you like the idea of creating faux looks of all kinds, give it a shot.  It  is a medium that is inexpensive and easy to create with, right out of the package.  You don’t need expensive equipment, just an oven, some household tools and your hands.

[pinit]

There are so many unique stocking stuffers to make for girls and women.  From treats to jewelry to hair accessories and photo gifts, this round-up will give you plenty of inspiration resulting in Christmas morning cheer.  The stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas growing up, because my momma gave it her all.  Those things were busting at the seams come time to raid what seemed like magical, bottomless socks.

Some of my favorites in the collection:

DIY Dollar Store Custom Stenciled Gift Mugs

@DollarTree Mug Stenciled Mustache; Great #DIY #GiftIdea @savedbyloves

Today I have a great guy gift idea for you.  This project only cost $1 and took just 5 minutes.  Attention procrastinators:  easy, cheap last minute guy gift here.  You can actually make these for anyone on you list.  It doesn’t have to be a mustache that you paint on here.  Remember when I showed you these Martha Stewart stenciled mugs?

@DollarTree Mug Stenciled Mustache; Great #DIY #GiftIdea @savedbyloves

This project is similar, but I found these clear, big glass mugs at Dollar Tree.  I made my own stencil but printing the mustache below on cardstock, cutting it out and tracing it onto contact paper.  I cut that out and used the space left behind as the stencil on the mug.  No die cut machine necessary.

I made one of these for everyone that is going to be at my family’s traditional egg nog New Year’s Eve get together.  For some I used adhesive stencils, and others I used hand cut stencils I made from contact paper.  I used Martha Stewart glass paint and her daubers to apply it.  The stuff is great because you can bake it and it becomes permanent and dishwasher safe.  Not to mention it applies beautifully.  You can create professional looking gifts with no experience.

Make an Aluminum Can Poinsettia Wreath

How to Make A #Christmas #Wreath from #Recycled Cans #Upcycle #DIY @savedbyloves #Sizzix

[pinit]

Last week, I showed you this paper poinsettia wreath tutorial using a Sizzix flower petal die and card stock.  I decided to use the same die to create this aluminum can poinsettia wreath.  The “wreath form” is a stove top piece I picked up at my local Habitat for Humanity Restore, making this an all around eco-friendly holiday decoration.  Total project cost – about $1.

My Aluminum can rose video shows you how to cut the cans.  Be careful – they can be sharp when cut.

For creating the flowers using the die or template (provide in the following linked post), see the paper poinsettia wreath tutorial:
I use alcohol inks to color my poinsettia petala , like I showed you in my aluminum can leaf wreath tutorial.  To give each one some variation, I went over the petals with copic markers.  For the leaves, I used Martha Stewart Glitter paint.  I sealed my leaves with Mod Podge Pearl Spray Sealer.  I love the look of this sealer with the alcohol ink.

To adhere the flowers to the circle stove part, I use Beacon Fabri-Tac.  This stuff rocks.  It is like hot glue in a bottle.  Dries strong and fast.

I finished the wreath off with a silver wire ribbon bow.  I love it against our off white door.  It was going to be a gift, but it just can’t leave that spot.  Sometimes that happens, right?!
