Make a Custom Console Table

DIY Rustic Console Table @savedbyloves

I just can’t seem to leave the garage these days.  Who knew I woodworking was so addictive?!  Today’s project is a variation on Ana White’s Rustic X Console. The only thing I changed from Ana’s plan is the width of the piece. I needed it to fit in a four foot space, so I adjusted the plan so that the top of the table measures 47 inches end to end.

The table took the weekend to make.  Ana’s instructions are awesome.

I finished with Minwax wood conditioner and Classic Grey Minwax stain.

Hey Karol! I am a beginner all the way. My first project was last month; Ana White’s Chalkboard Crates. I agree some things are intimidating, but it is so fun and rewarding. Not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. If you are at all pulled towards it, I have a feeling you will love woodworking. Go for it!!

  4. Love it!! Where did you get the baskets?

  5. That turned out great…..Keep up the good work!

  6. I really LOve this, It turned out great!! I like this one you designed, because it is smaller. I just had a questions about the deminsions? Are they like Anas, just cut into half?

  7. Do you have a cut list for the one you did? I would need one that same size :)

Can you give me the dimensions you used? I need the exact same size!

  9. How do I find the instructions to do this? I want my husband to make this for our baby’s room!
    Thanks!

  10. Hey!

  11. I love this table. I was needing the exact same size. Do you gave the cut list for this. Thank you

Your table is beautiful! I have a silly question–I have never built anything like this before but would love to build a 4ft table like you did to use as the sign-in table at my wedding. This table would be perfect for the look of the wedding. However, I have tried to figure out all of the measurements to be able to make the 4ft table like you and can not figure them out. Could you please send me a list of your cut list for your table? I really appreciate your help!!

  14. What are the dimensions you used for this table?

  15. Do you have an adjusted plan? I’m wanting to make this but my math doesn’t look right.

    • It has been forever since I made this, but the only changes in the original Ana White plan are the top table planks and the boards running parallel to those. The parallel boards should all be the same length, and the table top a few inches longer than that so they extend off each end a few inches. I didn’t change anything about the table ends or “X”es. I hope that helps.
