DIY Apothecary Set

DIY decor apothecary jars

If someone in your household happens to acquire a surprise piano for his birthday, congratulations.  You have just inherited a lovely surface and area to express your creative DIY skills.  Yesterday I showed you the music quote subway art (click here for free printable).  Today I will demonstrate how to create these cheap and easy dollar store apothecary jars.

Diy Home Decor Apothecary Jars

  • 5 inch round wooden plaques (got mine at Michaels)
  • candle sticks
  • glass jars from dollar tree
  • black spray paint (I used rustoleum oil rubbed bronze from Lowe’s)
  • E6000 craft glue

  • Glue candlesticks to bases and glass jars to candlesticks.  And you are done… Magic!

Put them in place and fill them with whatever.  I love how these look, and the fact that their fillers can be changed out to coordinate with the seasons, for a year round accent.  Snatch up those goodwill candlesticks and jars and make your very own!

  1. I recently acquired a piano for my birthday and I found that it actually sounds better now that I placed some of the DIY projects that you outlined on top of it !! The tone seems brighter and the music somehow sweeter :)

  2. This was really a great idea, and a great job. It’s true things like this are so versatile. I like you can change out the seasons! I’d love it if you would link this to my new Sunday’s Best Link party starting today at 9:30. This needs to be shared.

  3. They look beautiful. good job. Thank you so much sharing and for linking up to our party Show and Share this week! Come on back this Wednesday to link up your current projects.
