Running and Heartburn; Walgreens to the Rescue

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

120x30_WalgrensTransparentLogoI am an early morning runner.  Having the miles behind me sets the tone for a productive day.  The routine usually involves me sleeping as late as possible, leaving just enough time to chug my morning coffee before hitting the pavement.  Large amounts of coffee, quickly + running = heartburn before the first mile is clocked.  After some experimenting time and again, I have found my solution –  Walgreens Regular Strength Cherry Comfort Gel Antacid and Anti-Gas.

This product has the same active ingredients as it’s name brand equivalents, like Mylanta, Maalox, Gaviscon and others.  A 12 oz bottle costs $4.99, compared to Maalox’s $6.99.  I am all about frugal, if the generic works and in this case, it works like a charm.  I prefer the cherry flavor, and I keep it refrigerated for extra cool factor.  I can down my coffee, take a swig of the Walgreens Regular Strength Cherry Comfort Gel Antacid and Anti-Gas and run for miles, free of pain (ok, free of heartburn pain – calves, a whole other issue).

Not only am I saving money on an product as effective, if not more so, than its brand name equivalents, but I am making a purchase that supports the community.  Purchases of Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products supports the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ which brings preventive medicine services to local communities.

Several blogs are running giveaways for Walgreens Gift Cards.  You have until June 30th to win, so hurry!
